After making a donation, you will receive a statement from BCP for the IRS.
Does your company do matching funds? Ask. You may be able to give two children the gift of an education (or, if you can't afford a full sponsorship, perhaps you pay half and your company will pay the other half).
Watoto - Annual Sponsorship Primary Student - $375
Sponsorship includes: Tuition, room and board, personal supplies (e.g. soap) and school supplies (paper, pencils, etc.), uniform and some additional clothes as needed. Tuition has recently been raised by $25 to reflect the 80% increase in food prices in Uganda during 2011.
Bishop Comboni - Annual Sponsorship Secondary School - $500
Sponsorship includes: Tuition, room and board, personal supplies (e.g. soap) and school supplies (paper, pencils, etc.), uniform, bedroll (1st year only), transportation to and from school throughout the year and some additional clothes as needed.
Please look at the menu button The Children for photos and basic information about some of the children available for sponsorship. There are over 100 children still needing sponsors, so if you would like us to pair you with a specific child (age, etc.), please contact us.
University: Costs vary according to area of study and school. Some scholarships are available.
BCP pays no salaries in the US. We do pay Evelyne Habassa who helps us in Bwindi (but does not work for Watoto) a small, quarterly salary for her work with the sponsorship program, but this cost is covered completely by a donation made specifically for this purpose.
We would like to emphasize that, although we hope for sponsorships of $375/500 that support a child for an entire year, donations of any size are greatly appreciated.
