ANITAH NAHURURAH
Sub-title here
Anitah just graduated from Watoto.
She was in the top ten of graduates and hopes someone will sponsor her at Comboni.
School started at the beginning of February.
The headmaster agreed to take her for school,
but only for a while until a sponsor is found.
She is 14/15 (she started late because
there was no money).
She has 7 brothers and 8 sisters.
Shyness is not a problem for her - that's good,
because she hopes to be a lawyer.
Without a sponsor, this is the end of the road for her.
Help her out of the trap her parents fell into.

AMOS TUMUKUNDE

In a world where all the stories are difficult,
some seem worse.
Amos is ten years old and just starting P.1.
His mother struggles to raise 5 daughters as well as Amos.
His father deserted the family - an all too common story of poverty overwhelming an adult
so badly, they run away.
Now Amos is considered a "single" orphan.
He is very, very shy, but thinks he would like to be a nurse to help others.
When we asked him what he needed, he asked for a pair of socks.

CHRISTOPHER RUKUNDO

Christopher has a hard time smiling when he has his picture taken.
Both his parents are dead.
He lives with his grandfather, who brought him to school the day we were there.
He has two brothers and one sister.
He dreams of being a doctor - and of having some clothing.
It is hard for his grandfather.
In spite of everything, Christopher is confident.
But it is hard to smile.

LORITAH KEMABAZI
We love this photo of Loritah because it is so her.
Full of life. Full of fun. And now in Comboni for high school - though we still don't have a sponsor for her!
(We made a deal with the headmaster, but must pay up by the beginning of second term)
She was 13 when this photo was taken. Now she is 14.
Her parents are both alive, but the father
won't help the children.
She loves science and volleyball.
She hopes to be a doctor.
How can you say no to that smile??

BRENDA NATURINDA

11 years old, Brenda starts P.4 at the beginning
of February.
She is very bright and came in 3rd in her class
for 2011.
We were told she is a "single" orphan and lives
with her grandmother.
This probably means her mother is dead, and her
father cannot care for her.
Although she smiles in this photo, she is usually
very sad.
She has nothing.
Having a sponsor might make her feel like
life can get happier.

DEVIS NIWAMANYA

Devis is 9 years old and will start P.3 in February...
If someone sponsors him.
He was 1st in his class.
He hopes to be an engineer - and is smart enough
for that to happen.
He is lucky because he has both his parents.
However, Devis is often ill because of a hernia.
If he gets a sponsor, he will also receive medical care. We will ask the hospital what can be done for him.
